The Open Minds Global Foundation
The Open Minds Global Foundation was created in 12007, with the aim to put together the strengths of the three main partners: Carpe Vitam, the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) and the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM).
The Open Minds Global Foundation has been registered in Geneva, Switzerland, according to the Swiss law.
The Board of the Open Minds Foundation, comprising representatives from Carpe Vitam, the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts and the World Organization of the Scout Movement, has the duty to give orientations and monitor the development of the Open Minds Initiative. It is supported by a small International Executive Team and project managers in each country.
Peder Wallenberg and Carpe Vitam have provided seed money, which allowed start operations.
Complementary sources of funding are sought in order to expand the Open Minds leadership Development Programme in several countries and develop an international network to exchange best practices and foster cooperation.
The Scout and the Guide Movements are implanted in most of the countries, they can foster initiatives coming from local populations. Therefore Open Minds Global is not a top-down initiative, it works through partnership agreement with local youth leaders and benefit from their knowledge and their commitment.
