The Open Minds Initiative will be attractive for young people and recognised as one of the most successful and reliable approaches to leadership training and capacity building for young adults
Mission Statement
To empower young people from underprivileged communities to become agents of change within their communities through the development of sustainable social projects, in order to alleviate poverty and mitigate conflicts.
Objectives
- To develop a new leadership approach (gender equity and shared leadership) among young people.
- To support young people in acquiring the appropriate competencies to undertake income-generating projects that bring social changes in their communities (social entrepreneurship).
- To support Guiding and Scouting and partner NGOs in addressing issues affecting young people (access to education, health, unemployment, violence, etc.).
- To increase Guiding and Scouting networking capacities with different stake holders and enable them to play a more active role in development of society.
